Our history
The 'Foyer de l’Orb', a non-profit organization under the French law of 1901, was created to meet the need for reception and accommodation for the families of prisoners, close to the Gasquinoy prison. It was born out of a collective desire to offer a humane, supportive, and caring place that facilitates visits and maintains family ties.
In 2025, the 'Foyer de l’Orb' welcomed 258 people, including 46 children, representing 120 overnight stays. These figures demonstrate the importance of the foyer in supporting families by offering a place for welcome, rest, and support during often difficult times.
'Un Autre Toit' and 'Les Lieux du Lien' accompany and support the 'Foyer de l’Orb' in its actions. Their commitment alongside the association helps to strengthen the missions of welcoming, listening, and solidarity carried out with families.
In the future, Le Foyer de l’Orb will remain committed to providing a human, supportive, and caring welcome to families. The foyer will continue to be a place of listening, support, and comfort, designed to accompany everyone with respect and dignity.
